My name is Madeline Cannon, and this is my blog for my English class. I am fifteen years old and live in Orem, Utah. I just moved here from Maine in July, and will be moving to Portland, Oregon in December or January. I have two sisters, Anna (my twin) and Tessa (she's 11).
I love writing music on the piano. I've been playing the piano since I was 5 and writing songs since I was 9. I've also been playing the saxophone since I was 10. I also love listening to music. My favorite singers are Regina Spektor (I'm listening to a song by her right now ("Raindrops")), Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and Florence + the Machine. My favorite song is "Home," by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. My other favorite songs are all by Regina Spektor: "I Cut Off My Hair," "Lulliby," "The Virgin Queen," and "Baobabs."
I also LOVE my pets. I have a kitten named Pepper, a cat named Lily, and a cockapoo named Precious. Precious isn't actually my dog. We're taking care of her until December while her owners are in Virginia. We've had Pepper since he was 4 weeks old (he was so tiny!). He's a year old now, but he's still kitten-sized. He's a kitten for life. But he's very brave and adventurous. Lily is a very big and fat cat. I think she's crazy. Her eyes are always really wide, even when it's light (that might be because of bad eyesight, though) and she sometimes runs around and hisses at imaginary cats or pounces on imaginary mice. But she's very friendly and loving. Precious is my first dog, and I love them! I love how excited dogs get about things. Whenever we come home or say the words, "walk," or "go," she jumps up and down and runs in circles.
I also love looking at pictures of other countries. I want to travel all over the world, especially to places that are completely different from anything I've seen before. The places I want to go to most are Botswana, India, Japan, Algeria, and Antarctica. Paris would be on the list, but I went there last spring.
